Anton Mejias


Anton Mejias (2001) started playing piano at the age of five and his first teacher was Meri Louhos. In 2010 he moved on to the Sibelius Academy youth department where he is currently studying with Teppo Koivisto and Niklas Pokki. He has also been accepted by the Rimsky-Korsakov conservatory. Anton held his first recital at the age of eight, which included his 12 preludes. Since then he has given numerous recitals.

Anton has participated in a number of master classes held by Zhe Tang, Claudio Martinez-Mehner, Vladislav Bronevetzky, Janne Mertanen, Antti Siirala and Andrzej Jasinski, among others. Anton represented Finland in the 17th International Steinway Piano Festival.

This year Anton youngest participant to get to the second round in the Aarhus International Piano Competition. He also won the second prize at the Tampere piano competition and was the youngest participant in the finals, where he played Rachmaninoff´s third piano concerto.
