Leevi Ollila


Leevi Ollila (b. 2000) began his piano studies in 2008 at the Music Institute Arkipelag with Sonja Fräki as his teacher. After a few years, in 2012, he started to study at the Turku Conservatory as a student of Niklas Pokki.

In 2013 Leevi was awarded a prize in the Pianoaura-competition. In the same year he was accepted to the newly founded Youth Piano Academy. In the YPA he’s been given master classes by many internationally known concert pianists as well as leading professors e.g. Angela Hewitt, Matti Raekallio, Erik T. Tawaststjerna, Emanuel Krasovsky, Antti Siirala.

In the summer 2014 Leevi earned the second prize in the Stockholm International Music Competition. Later on the same year he performed as a soloist with the Turku Conservatory Chamber Orchestra. In 2015 Leevi was awarded with a special prize in the Leevi Madetoja Piano Competition in Oulu. In the autumn 2015 Leevi performed at the PianoEspoo festival. He also got to represent the Turku Conservatory in St. Petersburg, where he played a concert in the Mariinsky Theater. In 2016 Leevi gave a recital in Benalmadena Spain. In the beginning of year 2017 Leevi got his best competition result so far when he was awarded the second prize in the young pianists Chopin competition in Helsinki.
