Samuel Eriksson


Samuel Eriksson (b. 2001) is studying piano and clarinet at the Turku Conservatory, with Niklas Pokki and Outi Heiskanen as teachers on the respective instruments. He was accepted to the Youth Piano Academy of Finland in 2013, where he has participated in numerous master classes with renown professors.

Samuel has received awards in the Pianoaura competition in 2010, 2013, 2016, the Stockholm International Music Competition in 2014, the Madetoja Piano Competition in 2012 and 2015, the Steinway Festival Competition in 2016, the Chopin-competition in Helsinki 2017, and the Hullu Puhallus-competition for brass and woodwind instruments 2017.

The most significant appearances have been in the Turku Art Museum lunch concert series in 2013 and 2016, as a piano soloist with the Sigyn Sinfonietta in 2014, as a clarinet soloist with the Big Band of the Finnish Navy 2014 and 2016, as a piano duo with Tarmo Peltokoski in Summer Festival of Chamber Music at the House of Nobility in Helsinki 2015, at the Piano Espoo Festival in Espoo 2015, at the Mariinsky theater in St. Petersburg in 2015. He has also performed as a piano soloist in Chioggia, Italy with the regional orchestra 2016, and at a concert series in Málaga 2017.
