Mänttä Music Festival is postponed until 2021
The XXII Mänttä Music Festival planned for this summer will be postponed until the year 2021 due to the corona virus pandemic. After negotiating with the artists (such as Ian Bostridge, Saskia Giorgini, Andreas Haefliger, Tuija Hakkila ja Antti Siirala, to mention a few) we have been able to move all concerts programmed for this summer 2020 to the year 2021, taking place August 3th-7th.
“Postponing the festival was not an easy decision, but a necessary one.”, comments Niklas Pokki, Mänttä Music Festival´s artistic director. “There was just too much uncertainty caused by the virus. We have to be able to guarantee that it is safe for our audience, the artists, students attending the masterclasses and the volunteers to interact during the festival. At this time we can not do that. We also have artists flying in from several different countries, and not knowing how the travel restrictions evolve makes it impossible to execute a festival this summer.”
If you have already purchased a ticket for this summer, it is possible to use that ticket for the corresponding concert next year, which will take place from August 3-7 (2021). There is also an option to change the ticket into a gift voucher (Lippupiste), or request reimbursement for the price of tickets. For more information, click here.
