Ásta Dóra Finnsdóttir

Ásta Dóra Finnsdóttir is a 12-year-old pianist from Iceland. She started to play the piano at the age of 4 and currently she is enrolled in the young talents program at Barratt Due in Oslo, Norway. She lives in Gardabaer, Iceland, and commutes once or twice a month from Iceland to Norway to attend classes with her Russian teacher, Marina Pliassova. Ásta Dóra studies also with Péter Máté at the Reykjavik College of Music.

Ásta Dóra has taken part in many national and international competitions such as Aarhus international Piano Competition 2019, EPTA competition in Iceland 2018 (I prize and Grand Prix), Poros festival 2018 in Greece (I prize), Young Pianist of the North in England 2017 (I prize), Primavera Pianistica in Belgium 2017 (II prize), Frederik Chopin Competition for Children and Youth in Szafarnia 2017 (Distinction prize), EPTA competition in Iceland 2015 (I prize).

She has performed in various music festivals and concerts in Iceland, England, Norway, England, Belgium and Greece. Ásta Dóra has performed as a soloist with BARDUS in Oslo, Norway, 2019, Athens camerata, Greece,  2018, Harpa International Music Academy Orchestra, Iceland,  2018, Iceland Symphony Orchestra, 2017. She has performed for the President of Iceland. She likes to improvise, compose, read books and write stories.
