Ásta Dóra Finnsdót­tir

Ásta Dóra Finnsdót­tir is a 12-year-old pia­nist from Ice­land. She star­ted to play the pia­no at the age of 4 and cur­rent­ly she is en­rol­led in the young ta­lents pro­gram at Bar­ratt Due in Oslo, Norway. She li­ves in Gar­da­baer, Ice­land, and com­mu­tes once or twice a month from Ice­land to Norway to at­tend clas­ses with her Rus­sian teac­her, Ma­ri­na Plias­so­va. Ásta Dóra stu­dies also with Pé­ter Máté at the Reyk­ja­vik Col­le­ge of Music.

Ásta Dóra has ta­ken part in many na­tio­nal and in­ter­na­tio­nal com­pe­ti­tions such as Aar­hus in­ter­na­tio­nal Pia­no Com­pe­ti­tion 2019, EPTA com­pe­ti­tion in Ice­land 2018 (I prize and Grand Prix), Po­ros fes­ti­val 2018 in Greece (I prize), Young Pia­nist of the North in England 2017 (I prize), Pri­ma­ve­ra Pia­nis­tica in Bel­gium 2017 (II prize), Fre­de­rik Cho­pin Com­pe­ti­tion for Children and Youth in Sza­far­nia 2017 (Dis­tinc­tion prize), EPTA com­pe­ti­tion in Ice­land 2015 (I prize).

She has per­for­med in va­rious music fes­ti­vals and concerts in Ice­land, England, Norway, England, Bel­gium and Greece. Ásta Dóra has per­for­med as a so­loist with BAR­DUS in Oslo, Norway, 2019, At­hens ca­me­ra­ta, Greece,  2018, Har­pa In­ter­na­tio­nal Music Aca­de­my Orc­he­stra, Ice­land,  2018, Ice­land Symp­ho­ny Orc­he­stra, 2017. She has per­for­med for the Pre­si­dent of Ice­land. She li­kes to im­pro­vi­se, com­po­se, read books and wri­te sto­ries.
