Flutist, musician and music educator Julia Ilomäki (Master of Music) works as a flutist in classical and other genres. Julia's playing is characterised by versatility and passion for all kinds of music. Julia is an active freelance musician and performs in various chamber music ensembles in Finland and abroad.
Julia graduated as a professional musician from the Tampere Conservatory with distinction in 2016. She has since continued her studies at the University of the Arts Helsinki's Sibelius Academy and the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. Julia graduated with a diploma in classical flute in the spring of 2022 and a Master's degree in music from the Sibelius Academy in the spring of 2023.
In addition to performing, teaching has always been close to Julia's heart. Julia enjoys being able to share her musical knowledge with others, potentially creating something even greater. This is Julia's strength both as a musician and as a music educator. Julia works as a flute teacher at the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, the Helsinki Finnish Adult Education Centre and privately, and is one of the founding members of the Helsinki Flute Camp.
Together with Sarah Devoyon, Julia is the artistic content planner and performing musician for Mänttä Music Festival's Common Good for All concert series. Read more about the Common Good for All concerts.
