The opening concert of the 25th Mänttä Music Festival will be performed by Serbian-born, Berlin-based piano star Tamara Stefanovich. She is known for her dazzling interpretations and exceptionally wide repertoire.
Stefanovich's Mänttä programme is the perfect way to celebrate the opening of the festival. In the first half of the concert, she creatively combines György Ligeti's famous Musica Ricercata with Beethoven's Bagatelles. In the second half, the atmosphere intensifies even more as the pianist juxtaposes Ligeti's etudes with well-known etudes by Rachmaninov, Debussy and Scriabin, among others.
This psychologically insightful programme, which explores new facets of Stefanovich's piano repertoire, is a wonderful tribute to the 25th anniversary of the Mänttä Music Festival.
Artistic Director of the Mänttä Music Festival Niklas Pokki introduces the concert in the Kivijärvi Hall at 18:00 (in Finnish). Estimated starting time of the intermission is 19:05. The concert ends approximately at 20:15.
