“Yeol Eum Son is musicality itself, and has the fingers of God… with an innate sense of tactus, and this way of always being between pleasure and emotion--” –Jean-Charles Hoffelé, Artalinna
Yeol Eum Son is a 37-year-old South Korean piano star whose playing is characterised by poetic refinement, bold contrasts and breathtaking technical mastery. His piano music has been compared by many critics to the greatest piano legends of all time.
The evening's selection of works brings back memories of the early days of the Mänttä Music Festival: a colourful collection of piano music rarities combined with the much-loved and renowned Rachmaninov Prelude Suite. The theme of this delicious concert programme is the great piano virtuosos as composers.
Artistic Director of the Mänttä Music Festival Niklas Pokki introduces the concert in the Kivijärvi Hall at 18:00 (in Finnish). Estimated starting time of the intermission is 19:05. The concert ends approximately at 20:15.
